Temperatures drop to normal ranges, snow still not likely
First Published Jan 09 2012 08:23 am • Last Updated Jan 09 2012 08:53 am

It doesn’t look like snow will be coming our way, but it’s going to feel a lot more like January this week along the Wasatch Front.

Beginning Monday, temperatures will hover in the mid-30s with lows dipping down into the mid-20s each night as a ridge of high pressure settles in along the valley. A weak storm system is expected Tuesday night, but it brings with it only a 20 percent chance of snow, said Mark Struthwolf, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

"We’re not anticipating much if any weather with it," he said.

The Wasatch Front will get some cloud cover, bringing the Tuesday high to near 40. Average temperatures for this time of year are in the mid-30s, Struthwolf said.

In the St. George area, the sun will be shining and temperatures will hit the mid-50s each day and drop into the 30s for the low.
