A Santaquin man waited more than a month for the $350,000-plus Lamborghini LP640 he won in Maverik's "Joe Schmo to Lambo" contest to finally arrive.

On Saturday, the shiny, 640-horse sports car was delivered. David Dopp had won the 2008 model on Nov. 12 at Brigham Young University's LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Six hours after Dopp took delivery, though, he was calling for a tow truck. ABC 4 News reports that he was giving a ride to a friend outside Santaquin and took a curve at about 50 mph, only to find he was spinning on black ice.

He hit a fence post, sustaining front end damage. Fortunately, he had just laid out $3,500 for six months worth of insurance.

Dopp's wife, Annette, says she's just happy no one was hurt. "Everything is going to be OK and we'll move on from here," she told ABC 4.

On Wednesday, the Lamborghini was on a trailer en route to Las Vegas, Nev., for repairs.

And Dopp has made a decision: He will sell the luxury auto when he gets it back and use the money to pay off bills — and buy his wife a new car.
