A scenario is shaping up that could create havoc in Utah's 2nd District.

Boyd Matheson, a business consultant and Republican, is seriously considering jumping into the 2nd District race.

If he gets the nomination, it could set up a Matheson vs. Matheson showdown on next November's ballot.

Boyd Matheson is a consultant and public speaker who served as spokesman for Sen. Mike Lee's campaign last year.

He said he thinks he's related to Jim Matheson somehow, perhaps a distant cousin. He said as a young man he remembers going to a Matheson family reunion at the governor's mansion when Scott Matheson was in office.

He would join a crowded and growing field of candidates vying for the Republican nomination in the 2nd District.

I guess it could pretty much scuttle any plans to revive the "Matheson=Pelosi" meme from last year.
