A 42-year-old Ogden man was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court for allegedly attacking another inmate with a razor while in Salt Lake County jail.
On Aug. 30, the man entered the cell of the other inmate, who was sleeping facing the wall, a jail officer said. The man then forced the other inmate onto his back and cut him repeatedly, court documents state.

The injured inmate told police his attacker said during the episode, "I’m going to kill you," charging documents say. The alleged attacker later told investigators that the other inmate was "running his mouth, so he handled it," court documents say.
The injured man suffered four lacerations, including a three-inch cut to the left side of his neck and a one-inch cut on the right side of his neck.
The alleged perpetrator is charged with one count of attempted aggravated murder, a first-degree felony; aggravated assault, a second-degree felony; and transportation or possession of items prohibited in correctional and mental health facilities, a second-degree felony.
