Two missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were killed and another injured Tuesday night when a vehicle struck them while they were riding their bikes in Donna, Texas.

The two who died have been identified as Trevor Reinhold Strong, 21, of Taylorsville, and Derek Jason Walker, 20, of Fairfield, Idaho. Zachary Todd Harris, 19, of Huntsville, Ala., was rushed to a medical center, where he is expected to recover, said Scott Trotter, spokesman for the church..

Police were searching for the driver of the vehicle, who left the scene of the accident on foot, Trotter said.

According to KRGV.com, the website for Channel 5 News in Donna, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Elder Harris and the family, friends and loved ones of Elder Strong and Elder Walker," Trotter said Tuesday. "We pray that the Lord will comfort and watch over them during this difficult time."
