A 35-year-old man died Saturday afternoon in Taylorsville after someone shot him twice in the chest.

Taylorsville police Sgt. Tracy Wyant said the man was inside his Summerwood apartment, 5675 S. 2106 West, just after 4 p.m. when he was killed. No one else was injured.

Wyant said police officers took into custody for questioning, one man who was seen fleeing on foot. That man was found at an adjacent business.

He said they're searching for two white women and at least one Polynesian man, who fled in a burgundy or maroon Dodge pickup that had a crossbones-skull decal either on the bumper or rear window.

Police said one woman is described as blonde, about 5-foot-8, wearing a long black jacket and jeans. The other is short with dyed black hair and sunglasses, he said. The man is described as about 6-foot with a thin or athletic build, wearing jeans and a black shirt.

He said police don't yet have a motive for the slaying, but said it was likely drug-related.

Anyone with information is asked to call Taylorsville police at 801-743-7000.
