Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shoes to people around the world, is working with Real Salt Lake, Comcast and Halogen TV to collect 20,000 new or used shoes in Salt Lake City for residents in need.

Shoes will be collected throughout the city through Dec. 31, and at seven Comcast Service Centers through Oct. 31. Shoes also will be collected at Rio Tinto Stadium before and during Saturday's match between Real Salt Lake and the Portland Timbers. The game begins at 7 p.m., but the shoe collection will take place between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Comcast booth in the Carnival Real festival outside the stadium's east gates.
