FARMINGTON • A Centerville man who stole TVs and tools to cover admission to a Utah amusement park will serve six months in jail.

The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that 19-year-old Michael Franklin Whitney will serve the time as part of a plea deal reached in August.

Whitney pleaded guilty to one felony and three misdemeanors in exchange for 10 other charges being dropped.

Authorities say Whitney pawned the goods in early August after stealing them from unlocked cars and a locked storage shed.

Charges are still pending against another 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old in connection with the thefts.
