Morgan deputies searching for man who threatened girl
First Published Oct 12 2011 09:04 pm • Last Updated Oct 13 2011 12:10 pm

Morgan County authorities are looking for a man who reportedly tried to lure a girl into his vehicle earlier this week.

Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy Joe Rohbock said the girl, who was 9 or 10, had just gotten off at her bus stop on the way home from school when a man sitting inside a silver late-model pickup asked her to come over. When she refused, Rohbock said the man, who was stopped close to the bus stop in the Trappers Pointe subdivision near State Road 167, said he would hurt her if she didn’t come over.

The girl ran home, and the man didn’t give chase, Rohbock said.

He said authorities are looking for a man in his 50s, who had red hair and a red goatee and mustache. The man was driving a silver pickup, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet model, that may have had a camper shell.

Anyone with information is asked to call deputies at 801-629-8221.
