No one was injured after a Delta Air Lines plane blew two tires Wednesday night when it landed at Salt Lake City International Airport.

David Korzep, superintendent of airport operations, said the plane, Flight 1883 carrying 155 passengers, was en route to Salt Lake City from Las Vegas when its brakes overheated.

The hot brakes caused the front tires to blow once the plane had safely touched down on the center runway, he said.

Airport fire crews responded and the plane was stopped in the center of the runway. Buses were used to transport the passengers to the terminal.

No other flights were affected because controllers were able to direct flights to the airport's other two runways, Korzep said.
