A wildfire burning in Zion National Park has been fully contained.

The blaze, sparked by lightning on Sept. 3, burned 195 acres on Herbs Point, a rugged, remote mesa of the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park about 15 miles south of Cedar City.

Crews contained the fire Saturday and are letting it burn out heavier brush on the mesa top.

"There may still be some smoke visible from the fire as it burns out heavier fuels on the interior of the mesa top," wrote Color Country Fire Information Office spokesman David Eaker.

Campsite No. 17 in the La Verkin Creek area of the park remained closed Monday because of the fire, but no other campgrounds were affected.
