Celebrate city heritage • The Sandy Heritage Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Park, 90 E. 8720 South. It features free food, a classic car show, scavenger hunt, historic Sandy bus tour and live entertainment by the Smith Brothers Dirt Band. Draper

Run and raise funds • Draper residents are hoping runners will raise cash to provide surgeries for club foot and cleft palate repair in third world countries. The "Heel to Heal" 5K race is set for Sept. 24, with proceeds benefitting the Deseret International Foundation. Registration cost is $15, due by Sept. 22, and includes a T-shirt. Salt Lake County

The play's the thing • October is Free Night of Theater month in Utah, but registration for tickets is underway through Sept. 23.
