Davis School District Superintendent Bryan Bowles is one of six candidates being considered to be the next chief of one of the nation's largest districts.

Broward County Public Schools, a Florida district that serves more than 234,000 students, has named Bowles a semi-finalist in their search for a new superintendent. Bowles is scheduled to be interviewed on Sept. 12 in Fort Lauderdale. The Broward school board expects to announce its choice on Sept. 14.

Bowles has spent his entire career as an educator in Davis district, which has 67,000 students. He was a teacher and principal at Bountiful High, his alma mater, before he became superintendent in 2002.
