A decision by two Salt Lake City bicycle police officers to question two suspicious men led to a sizeable drug bust.

Police say the two officers approached the two suspects about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday near 2400 South and 900 East. One of the men fled on foot but was caught a short distance away.

The suspect twice adopted combative stances and refused to surrender. He eventually was subdued after a Taser was used to shock him into submission.

A subsequent search of the 20-year-old man yielded 41 balloons of cocaine, 60 balloons of heroin, and an unspecified amount of cash.

Both the 20-year-old and the second suspect, a 30-year-old male, were booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute.
