Candidate filing • The deadline for filing a declaration of candidacy for a city council seat is 5 p.m. Friday. Candidates must file in-person at their city recorder's office. Visit bit.ly/js8gdU for more information and links to city recorder offices.

Midvale

Fundraiser • The Boys & Girls Club is hosting a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 7631 Chapel St. (425 West). Money raised will be split between the club and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Gangs • The Midvale Police Department is slated to present information on tagging and gang activity from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 20 at 7912 S. Main.

Rock n' roll • "All Shook Up: Midvale's Summer Musical in the Park," featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, is set for 7:30 each night from July 15-22 (except July 17) at the outdoor stage, 455 W. 7500 South.
