A Salt Lake City woman is accused of threatening a motorist with a gun and ramming his car out of road rage this month in Murray.

In charges filed Monday, police wrote that a man and woman were in a car that pulled up to the intersection of 5300 South and State Street on June 9, when they heard honking from the car next to them. The driver of that car, a 39-year-old woman, allegedly rolled down her window and pointed a gun at them, complaining they had cut her off and announcing, "I should shoot you right now."

The victims drove away, and the woman with the gun followed, police wrote. She drove up to the passenger side of the victims' car and sideswiped them, police wrote. The man said he believed the woman was trying to force his car into oncoming traffic, so he pulled over.

The woman then accelerated her car and rammed into the back of the man's car, police wrote.

The victims later identified her in a police lineup, police wrote.

The woman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
