Two men and three children were injured in a plane crash in northern Sanpete County Saturday afternoon.

The plane carrying the five occupants stalled around 1 p.m. and couldn't be restarted, according to the pilot.

Sanpete County Sheriff's Sgt. Greg Peterson said the plane was flying one mile southeast of Mt. Pleasant when it ended up on its nose in a field.

Photographs released by the Sheriff's Office show the plane largely intact but with a crumpled front end, nose down, in an expanse of sagebrush.

Four of the occupants were flown to the hospital while the pilot was transported by ambulance.

Names of the injured and information on the extent of their injuries were not immediately made public.
