A judge dismissed eight other felony and misdemeanor counts stemming from the crash that killed 26-year-old Jason L. Palmer on April 1, 2009.
Bishop was charged with speeding through an Interstate 80 construction zone in Salt Lake City and hitting an SUV at 100 mph. Palmer was thrown from Bishop’s BMW and killed, and two people in the SUV were injured in the fiery crash, according to the charges.
Bishop pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree felony automobile homicide and two counts of third-degree felony DUI.
He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in August by Judge Robin Reese.
