Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff was given an award by the United States on Thursday for his efforts in battling child exploitation crimes.

Shurtleff was one of about 50 law enforcement officials from around the country honored by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Holder presented Shurtleff with the award for Outstanding Local Prosecutor's Office. Shurtleff heads up the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has conducted hundreds of child exploitation investigations. He has also helped establish Utah's Amber Alert program and established a statewide Child Abduction Response Team.
