A woman was seriously injured and northbound traffic was closed down for an hour Wednesday morning in a one-car crash on Interstate 15 near Lehi.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said two young children the woman was baby-sitting also were in the vehicle, but they were secured in child seats and escaped injury. No other vehicles were involved in the 6:45 a.m. accident.

The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, was flown by helicopter ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. Her injuries, though extensive, were not considered to be life-threatening, Johnson said.

Johnson said the cause of the crash, which occurred when the vehicle suddenly veered into a concrete wall, remained under investigation.
