Police have identified a Layton teenager who was killed when a car struck him Tuesday night as he skateboarded in the street.

Layton police Sgt. Andrew Joseph said Jamison Tuckett, 15, was riding his longboard in the road near 325 North and 2200 West about 7 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a Honda Civic driven by Kailan Nay, 17, also of Layton.

Nay told police she did not see Tuckett until it was too late to avoid striking him.

While the accident remained under investigation Wednesday, Joseph said no citations had been issued.

"From what we've been able to learn so far, it just looks like one of those tragic accidents," he said.
