Weather • Saturday's early taste of winter weather that pelted the valleys with rain and dusted the Wasatch Mountains with snow will continue into Sunday.

Forecasters predicted rain and snow showers will increase intermittently into early Sunday in northern and central Utah. Windy, rainy weather was expected to be the rule for the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys, with rain turning to snow Monday along some bench areas.

The National Weather Service on Saturday issued winter weather advisories for higher-elevation locales stretching from Logan into the Richfield and Milford regions. A winter storm watch was in effect for northeastern Utah's Vernal area and the western Uintas.
