As BYU plays in the NCAA Tournament more than 1,500 miles from home, two local college basketball teams will be playing closer to home in a postseason tournament.

Weber State blew its chance at March Madness with a loss in the Big Sky Conference title game, and fell out of the NIT, the second-rung tournament, for reasons unknown.

That leaves the Wildcats hosting Utah Valley, in its first postseason, Tuesday at Dee Events Center at Ogden at 7 p.m. in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Tickets can be purchased online, starting at $10.

Utah State will play Cal State-Bakersfield in the same tournament on Wednesday.

The Wildcats are led by star guard Damian Lillard, a junior who is considered a top prospect in June's NBA draft.
