If you want to see high-quality volleyball, Utah Valley University is the place to be on Thursday afternoon.
Snow Canyon and Morgan lead a loaded Class 3A field in the first and second rounds of the state tournament. It's a bracket that will feature some of the best teams in the state, regardless of class.
Snow Canyon is a five-time winner of the state tournament. And BYU fans should be particularly interested in Ciara Parker, a setter who has committed to the Cougars.
Morgan is the defending champion, and is as much of a contender as ever to defend that crown. Then, you have Tooele, who returns to the playoffs after a five-year absence. Tooele won 12 matches this season, and upset highly-ranked Bear River to gain the fourth and final postseason spot from Region 11. In 2008 and 2009, this is a program that won just one match.
Judge Memorial and Juan Diego play first round matches at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively. The winners bracket and the losers bracket matches follow the first round in this double-elimination setting.
