TreeUtah Volunteers

TreeUtah is seek volunteers to help Alta Ski Resort to plant around 3,000 native seedlings. Because of some difficult terrain, this event is open to ages 16 years and up, and experienced hikers are preferred. Shifts are for either morning or evening. Interested volunteers must register by contacting Ross, at planting@treeutah.org, or call 801-364-2122.

When • Sept. 8, 8 a.m.

Where • Alta Lodge, 10230 S. State St., Sandy

Tickets • Bring lunch, water and gloves.

Farmers Market at Gardner Village

The Gardner Village will host the Wasatch Front Farmers Market. The market will be held every Saturday through Sept. 29.

Rockin' the Decades

FolkFest

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church will host its 15th annual FolkFest on Sept 7-9. Highlights include: Sept. 7 - fireworks; Sept. 8 - car show and a concert with Swagger, a local Irish rock band; Sept. 9 - the 5th annual Scottish Highland Games from noon-4 p.m. Free entertainment throughout the weekend, adult and kids games, beer garden and food.

When • Sept. 7. 5-10:15 p.m., Sept. 8, 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Dog and Cat Adoption Event

Come to the Salt Lake County Adoption Event, sponsored by Best Friends Utah, pick out the pet you want to be a hero to, then "pick your price" for the adoption fee. Free Strut Your Mutt registration to the first 25 dogs adopters.
