Contest • "Write for the Heights" winners will be announced in an event that kicks off Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the downstairs conference room of the Whitmore Library, 2197 Fort Union Blvd. KUED Production Director Ken Verdoia will deliver the keynote speech.


Exhibit • Through Sunday, the Holladay Arts Council is hosting its autumn exhibit at City Hall, 4580 S. 2300 East. Participants will practice their crafts, including painting, pen and ink, sculpting and more. The show runs from 4 to 7 p.m., weekdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
