Open door • Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon will hold open-door meetings with constituents from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the County Government Center, 2001 S. State St. Each meeting — lasting 10 minutes — will happen on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is needed.

Cottonwood Heights

"Messiah" coming • The public is invited to a production of Handel's "Messiah" at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the Cottonwood Heights LDS stake center at 6890 S. 2228 East. A community choir and orchestra will present the show under the direction of Elizabeth Palmer, the concertmaster of the Salt Lake Symphony.

Midvale

Candy trains • Children and their families can make candy trains on Tuesday, at Ruth Vine Tyler Library, 8041 S. Wood St. (55 West). Drop by between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
