Cass Carroll has volunteered at the Bountiful Community Food Pantry for more than two years. During her tenure, Carroll has logged more than 2,400 hours for the charity, devoting at least four hours each weekday, plus numerous evenings, to the pantry. She has kept watch on the pantry’s food supply — which reached 1.4 million pounds last year — to ensure that items don’t exceed their shelf life. She has managed the food-sorting process, trained volunteers and made special items such as gluten-free foods available to clients.
"As a result of the service Cass gives to our pantry, we know that the food we distribute to clients is safe," wrote Lorna Koci, director of the pantry. "Given that we serve over 600 families each month who live from North Salt Lake to Farmington, the impact of her work is widespread and most appreciated."
