Park City Mountain Resort is dividing $35,000 in grants among 26 local nonprofits.
Now in its third year, PCMR's "Legacy Fund Initiative" supports Summit County nonprofits that provide programs involving children and athletics, education, environmental stewardship, humanitarian aid and social services. The program is administered by the Park City Foundation.
Recipients include Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program, Alf Engen Ski Museum, Arts-Kids, Axis Freeride & Park City Snowboard Team, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, Summit and Wasatch counties, Christian Center of Park City, Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center, Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch counties, Hawkwatch and Holy Cross Ministries.
Also Image Reborn, Kimball Art Center, KPCW, Mountainlands Community Housing Trust, Park City Education Foundation, Park City Institute, Park City Skating Club, Peace House, People's Health Clinic, Recycle Utah, Summit Land Conservancy, Swaner EcoCenter, US Adaptive Bobsled and Skeleton Assn., Weilenmann School of Discovery, YMCA of Northern Utah and Youth Sports Alliance.
The recipient of funding from next winter's Benefits Days, in which early-season lift tickets sell for $25 with proceeds going to a nonprofit, will be determined by an application process, PCMR spokesman Andy Miller said.
Nonprofits interested in being selected must apply by June 16. Details are available at http://www.theparkcityfoundation.org.
