Stoel Rives LLP and the Utah Technology Council on Thursday recognized the state's top eight innovations and the companies responsible for them with Utah Innovation Awards.

Winners received their awards during a luncheon at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.

Award recipients include:

Natural gas membrane reactor by Ceramatec Inc. • The reactor converts natural gas to benzene and hydrogen via an economic single-step process that reduces environmentally hazardous gas flaring and greenhouse gas emissions, a news release said.

Thermal radar by Thermal Imaging Radar LLC • The compact, lightweight, low-power, thermal camera can create 360-degree panoramic images every second and analyze them for intrusion, according to the release.

Disney Infinity by Avalanche Software Disney Interactive • The gaming experience inspires creativity and interactive play, according to the release. Users may create virtual worlds for Disney characters.

MoneyDesktop Personal Finance Management Suite by MoneyDesktop • The personal financial management software helps users manage their finances. It also helps financial institutions understand user data to increase customer retention and profitability.

LPCN 1021 by Lipocine Inc. • The release said LPCN 1021 is an innovative oral formulation of an insoluble testosterone drug for the treatment of hypogonadism.

PowerGlide by Bard Access Systems • PowerGlide is a midline catheter that offers peripherally inserted vascular access.

Efficient manufacturing of quantum dots by Navillum Nanotechnologies LLC • Quantum dots are an energy-efficient alternative for technologies in lighting, displays, solar and biomedical applications, the release said. Navillum's new process makes their production more economical.

Skydrop sprinkler controller by Skydrop LLC • The sprinkler controller helps consumers reduce overwatering to save money.
