A line of baby monitors with rechargeable batteries that can overheat and rupture are among this week's recalled consumer products. Others include crossbows that can fire an arrow unexpectedly and leaf blowers with faulty impellors.

BABY MONITORS
DETAILS: Rechargeable batteries in Summer Infant hand-held color video monitors. The rechargeable batteries are marked with TCL on the lower right corner of the battery. Monitors are sold with a matching camera and A/C adaptors. They were sold from about February 2010 through 2012 . WHY: The battery in the hand-held video monitor can overheat and rupture, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
INCIDENTS: 22 reports of overheated and ruptured batteries, including incidents of smoke and minor property damage.
HOW MANY: About 800,000 batteries. About 58,800 were recalled in February 2011.

LEAF BLOWERS
DETAILS: Troy-Bilt electric leaf blowers with model TB180B, item number 41BA180G966, and serial numbers ranging from S1D111XK0001 through S1F152XK2008. They were made between April 11, 2011 and June 15, 2012. The model, item and serial numbers are located on a white label on the bottom of motor housing. Troy-Bilt and TB180B appear on a sticker on both sides of the unit. They were sold at Lowe's stores nationwide and online at http://www.troybilt.com from May 2011 through November 2013.
WHY: The blower's impeller can break and strike the operator during use, posing a laceration hazard.
INCIDENTS: 17 incident reports, including 12 injuries that resulted in lacerations requiring stitches, cuts, and bruises.

LEAF BLOWERS
DETAILS: Remington electric leaf blowers with model RM180B, item number 41AA180G983, and serial numbers ranging from S1E131XK0001 through S1E162XK2008. They were made between May 13, 2011 and May 16, 2012. The model, item and serial numbers are located on a white label on the bottom of motor housing. Remington, Mighty Sweep and RM180B appear on a sticker on both sides of the unit. They were sold by various retailers nationwide and online at mtdproducts.com from May 2011 through December 2013.
WHY: The blower's impeller can break and strike the operator during use, posing a laceration hazard.
INCIDENTS: One incident has been reported and that incident resulted in cuts and bruises.
HOW MANY: About 24,000.

GOLF CARTS
DETAILS: E-Z-GO, Cushman and Bad Boy Buggies brand gas- and electric-powered, four-wheeled vehicles with bench seats for the driver and passengers. Recalled E-Z-GO and Cushman vehicles have serial numbers from 2823208 to 2850425 and from 3000001 to 3003187. Bad Boy Buggies vehicles have serial numbers from 8005089 to 8006013. The brand and model names are printed on the side and front panels of the vehicles. Serial numbers are printed on a plate or label inside the cab below the driver's seat. They were sold at E-Z-GO, Cushman and Bad Boy Buggies dealers nationwide from August 2012 through February 2013.
WHY: The steering wheel nut may not have been tightened sufficiently, reducing the driver's steering control. This can result in a crash.
INCIDENTS: One incident reportedly involving an insufficiently tightened steering wheel nut and reduced steering control, in which the vehicle went over a curb and a passenger received a chipped tooth.

CROSSBOWS
DETAILS: Excalibur Matrix Mega 405 crossbows. Matrix 405 is printed on a label on the left side of the stock. The crossbow was sold in a mossy oak treestand camouflage pattern. The crossbow measures about 36 inches long and was sold individually or as part of a package with a black scope, four-arrow quiver and bracket, four arrows, four 150-grain field points and a rope-cocking aid. They were sold from February 2014 through March 2014.
WHY: The crossbow can fire an arrow without the trigger being pulled, posing an injury hazard to the user and to bystanders.
INCIDENTS: One report of the crossbow firing unexpectedly. No injuries have been reported.

FISH BOWLS
DETAILS: 1.75 gallon glass fish bowls sold at PetSmart stores from February 2013 through September 2013. The fish bowls were sold under the Great Choice or Top Fin brand names with SKU number 5140161 and UPC code 737257187092. The SKU and UPC codes are printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the fish bowl.
WHY: The glass fish bowls can crack, shatter or break during normal handling, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
INCIDENTS: 10 reports of the glass fish bowl breaking during normal use, including five reports of cuts to fingers and a knee. Four of the cuts required stitches. One required surgery for a lacerated tendon in a consumer's finger.

GIRLS' COATS
DETAILS: Girl's "Sugarfly" brand peacoat sold at Nordstrom Rack nationwide from October 2010 through November 2010. The double breasted wool and polyester garment comes with a waist drawstring sewn into the outside seam of the garment. The coats come in three different colors; solid black, charcoal plaid and purple plaid. The coats were sold in girls' sizes S (7-8), M (10-12), L (14), and XL (16). Style number KEM236 is located on the label found inside on the side seam of the garment. "Sugarfly" is printed on a label sewn into the neck of the coat.
WHY: The coats have a drawstring tie sewn into the side seam at the waist that could become snagged or caught in small spaces or vehicle doors, posing significant entanglement hazard to children.
INCIDENTS: None reported.

SNOW THROWERS
DETAILS: Ariens and Sno-Tek Snow Throwers, along with Ariens and Gravely All-Season Power Brushes. The snow throwers and power brushes have the Ariens, Sno-Tek or Gravely brand name printed on the product. For all recalled units, model and serial numbers are printed on a white label affixed to the lower rear of the product, near the wheel. They were sold from January 2014 to February 2014. WHY: A drive pulley can crack while in use and cause the auger/impeller or brush to continue to rotate after the clutch lever is disengaged. This poses amputation and laceration hazards to consumers.
INCIDENTS: None reported.

BICYCLES
DETAILS: All 2008 Felt S22 and S32 triathlon bicycles, and 2010 S32, B12, B14 and B16 triathlon bicycles. The bicycles have aluminum frames with carbon fiber forks and aluminum steer tubes. The Felt logo is on the seat, frame and tires. The model number is printed on the frame, next to the Felt logo. The 2008 S22 model was sold in gloss white and the 2008 S32 was sold in gloss red. The 2010 S32 model was sold in gloss black, the 2010 B12 was sold in gloss white, the 2010 B14 was sold in gloss pewter and the 2010 B16 was sold in matte black. They were sold from October 2007 through February 2014.
WHY: The steer tube on the bicycle fork can break and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of injury.
INCIDENTS: 18 reports of the bicycle forks breaking, including five reports of minor injuries
HOW MANY: About 3,300 in U.S. and about 190 in Canada. 2,100 additional units with the same steer tube were previously recalled in June 2010.

FITNESS MACHINE
DETAILS: Magnum and Matrix Fitness 900 Pro Series multi-station strength training towers. The machines involved in this recall were sold in various multi-station configurations. The machines include, but are not limited to, the adjustable pulley, the dual adjustable pulley, the triceps push down and the bicep/tricep pull down. Magnum or Matrix appear on the serial number label at the base of each unit. They were sold at Magnum Fitness and Johnson Health Tech North America and their dealers nationwide. The Magnum tower stations were sold from December 2008 through July 2013 and the Matrix Fitness tower stations were sold from from July 2013 through November 2013
WHY: The plastic connectors that link the strength training stations' towers can slide out or break, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
INCIDENTS: Three incidents where the plastic connectors slid out or broke, one resulting in a laceration near the eye socket.
