The Unified Police Department has made an arrest in the Thursday morning robbery of a Shell gas station at 4111 S. Redwood Road in Taylorsville.

A post on the UPD Facebook page said a 34-year-old Murray man was arrested without incident at 3460 S. Pioneer Parkway in West Valley City.

Officers responded to the robbery Thursday at 1:08 a.m. The suspect entered the gas station, demanded money from the clerk and held his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, though no weapon was actually displayed during the robbery.

According to UPD, the clerk complied with the suspect's demand and no one was hurt. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene in an older model white SUV.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect until Saturday. He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on aggravated robbery charges.
