AT&T has announced it has invested $100 million in its wireless infrastructure in Salt Lake City since 2011.

The company said it has made 43 enhancements to its cell network in the areas, including new cell sites, the addition of wireless network capacity, and new broadband network connections.

"Salt Lake residents depend on our fast and reliable Internet connections more and more every day, whether it's instant access to files and apps at work, watching a video at home, or even receiving updates from connected cars or home monitors," Tara Thue, director of external affairs for AT&T Utah, said in a statement. "AT&T is making robust investments locally to make sure that residents can take full advantage of the latest services and tools, and that businesses have the speed they need to compete and grow."

In a PC Magazine 2013 Fastest Mobile Networks 30-market study, AT&T was named Salt Lake City's fastest 4G LTE network over Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
