The Governor's Office of Economic Development has updated its website to make it more responsive to businesses looking to move or expand here — as well as the local citizenry.

"An informative, easy to navigate website is an essential tool for business recruitment," said GOED executive director Spencer P. Eccles, referring to http://business.utah.gov.

"Utah possesses one of the top economies in the nation and we wanted to create a website that had the capability to showcase that," he added, citing pages focusing on international trade and entrepreneurship in Utah.

For residents, the website will provide information about economic progress being made in the state. Information is available about every company that received post-performance tax incentives since 2008 from GOED's board.

"Users can look up an incented company and view GOED's project summary, board motion, map of location and press release of the announcement," Eccles said.

The agency is also expanding its social media contacts, he added.
