It was good while it lasted, but gas prices in Utah are finally on the rise after a period of declines.

The average price of gas per gallon in Utah was $3.13, according to a AAA report issued Tuesday. That was 8 cents higher than last month's AAA report and 29 cents higher than a year ago. Twelve states have lower average prices than Utah. The national average is $3.31.

Most Utah cities tracked by AAA reported higher prices than a month ago with the exception of Vernal and St. George. The lowest average in Utah was $3.10 per gallon in Logan, Ogden and Salt Lake City. The highest was in St. George at $3.26.
