Cellular company AT&T is entering the music biz.

The provider has announced a partnership with Dr. Dre's Beats Music to launch a new family music plan that offers unlimited streaming of songs to mobile devices.

AT&T customers on a family plan — which has unlimited data streaming — can stream music from a catalog of 20 million songs as well as the ability to download songs to the device for offline listening. The service begins Jan. 24 and costs $14.99 per month in addition to normal cellular fees. The first 90 days are free as a trial period. Individual AT&T wireless customers also can get the same access across three devices for $9.99 per month with the first 30 days free. The service will be available on nearly all major cell phone platforms, according to the company.

Up to five family members can use the service on up to 10 devices. While listeners can pick the songs, albums and create their own playlists of music, there also is a feature in which the songs are curated by "music experts based on your mood or specific moment," according to an AT&T statement.

"Beats Music is focused on delivering a different music service with personalized curation from real industry experts, and AT&T is focused on breaking the affordability barrier that currently exists for families in subscription and downloaded music," AT&T Mobility Chief Marketing Officer David Christopher said in a statement.
