The Uinta Golf brand is back in Utah.
Once one of the state's most prominent retail outlets for golf gear, Uinta Golf's name disappeared from marquees two years ago when local owner Sean Smith sold his five stores to Edwin Watts Golf.
But Edwin Watts Golf declared bankruptcy in November. Last month, its five Utah stores were among 49 sold to Worldwide Golf.
Joe Judd, Worldwide Golf's district manager for Utah, said the Uinta Golf name will be restored at stores in Salt Lake City, Sandy, Riverdale, Orem and St. George. Employees at all five sites will be retained, he added.
