Travelers using Salt Lake City International Airport will have some new options to fly in the western United States starting in June.
Alaska Airlines announced Friday it will begin daily nonstop service from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles; San Diego; San Jose, Calif.; and Portland, Ore., starting June 9. It also will add a third nonstop flight to its existing service between Salt Lake City and Seattle.
"Salt Lake City has long been a top requested market by our customers and we are pleased to add to our successful Seattle-Salt Lake City flights," Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, said in a news releases. "This new service connects travelers with Alaska's strong network on the West Coast."
The routes will be operated with Alaska Airlines' Boeing 737 aircraft and SkyWest Airlines' 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets.
Travelers can begin booking flights using sale fares on Tuesday. Members of Alaska Airlines' elite frequent flier program can get double miles on these routes.
Alaska Airlines, which ranked "highest in customer satisfaction among traditional network carriers" in the J.D. Power and Associates North American Airline Satisfaction Study from 2008 to 2013, serves nearly 100 cities through an expansive network in Alaska, the lower 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.
