More than a foot of snow from Tuesday's storm has given boosts to the opening of ski seasons at Sundance (Friday) and Deer Valley (Saturday).

Deer Valley received 19 inches of snow from the lengthy storm, setting up the annual Celebrity Skifest race Saturday and Sunday. Starting at noon both days, teams of former Olympic skiers and celebrities from film and television will race on Birdseye Run, near the Silver Lake lodge.

A 16-inch dump at Sundance has provided the Provo Canyon resort with a 25-inch base for its debut.

Powder Mountain above Ogden also opens Friday.
