Utah philanthropists, volunteers to be honored
The Utah Nonprofits Association and Utah Society of Fund Raisers will recognize Utah's philanthropists and volunteer leaders at the 15th annual Utah Philanthropy Day on Nov. 14.
A luncheon and awards ceremony will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Little America Hotel Ballroom.
Six awards are given at the luncheon, honoring individuals, foundations and corporations who have positively impacted Utah's communities and supported the state's nonprofit organizations, according to a press statement. Among those being honored are The Right Reverend Carolyn Tanner Irish, The R. Harold Burton Foundation, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, Deborah S. Bayle of United Way of Salt Lake, Hailey Daniels nominated by the Arthritis Foundation and Debbie Nielson of the Girl Scouts of Utah.
In addition, more than 75 volunteers will be honored with a Heart and Hands award for their service to the community. Heart and Hands recipients are nominated by nonprofit organizations to express gratitude for the tireless hours contributed by these volunteers.
