Provo-based Vivint, which produces and installs home automation systems, is one of the biggest job creators in the U.S. this year, according to Inc. Magazine.

The company is one of the honorees to receive the magazine's 2013 Inc. Hire Power Awards for hiring 1,943 employees in the last year, the second most of any company in the country. Currently, Vivint has 6,496 employees in offices all over North America.

"Vivint's culture is one of innovation, and creating more jobs has been a natural byproduct of our growth and expansion of services," Vivint CEO Todd Pedersen said in a statement. "We couldn't have a higher quality workforce, and receiving national recognition is extremely rewarding."

Santa Ana, Calif.-based security company, Universal Services of America, was listed No. 1 with 14,240 new jobs created in the last year. Other Utah companies listed in the top 100 in job growth include Ancestry.com (No. 57), Property Solutions International (No. 59), InsideSales.com (No. 72), and Ingram Medical (No. 85).
