Park City-based Skullcandy announces new CFO
Park City-based Skullcandy, which designs and manufactures audio accessories for mobile devices, announced it has named Jason Hodell as its new chief financial officer.
Hodell has 15 years of experience in finance and operations in the digital technology sector and was CFO of Shopzilla, a site that compares prices for online products. He also was CFO and chief operating officer for Move Networks, an Internet-based television company.
The announcement comes as Skullcandy continues its restructuring amid a nearly 30 percent drop in net sales in the second fiscal quarter of this year. The company posted a net sales loss of 29.9 percent to $50.8 million compared to the same time last year, according to its financial report.
The company announced that it was closing its San Clemente, Calif., office and moving most of its employees there to Park City. It also announced a new position of chief commercial officer which is now held by Sam Paschel, the company's former executive vice president of product development and merchandising.
The company's stock was down 23 cents at the close of Monday to $6.05 per share.
