Destination West, a new Utah event and tour management company, has announced its official launch and the appointment of R. Troy Rushton as president to oversee its Salt Lake City and Park City offices. The company specializes in convention services, special events and tour planning for groups of all sizes who are coming to the Mountain West for corporate meetings, incentive programs or leisure.

The National Eagle Scout Association recently honored Bruce Bryan, the regional president of HeritageWest, SouthWest Community and Utah Central credit unions, with one of its highest awards. The honor acknowledges Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their profession or vocation by making a positive impact on their communities.

EDA Architects, Salt Lake City, has announced the promotions of Evan Cindrich, Robert Herman and Stephanie McCarthy to principals of the firm. Cindrich has been an interior designer for more than 25 years. He joined EDA 16 years ago and leads the interior architecture department. Herman has practiced architecture for the past 31 years, providing design work for various award-winning public facilities in Utah. During her 16 years at EDA, McCarthy has built a resume that includes master planning, programming, design and project management.

Jim Pivirotto and James Merrill have joined the Salt Lake City office of CBRE. Pivirotto has nearly 30 years of experience in property management. He joined CBRE's asset services group as a real estate manager. Merrill has 19 years of experience and joined the office as an associate specializing in industrial brokerage services.

Brighton Bank announced that Lynda Robinson has been named a vice president. She also will continue to serve as the bank's auditor. Robison has been with the bank since 1991 and has served in a number of positions, including assistant vice president, assistant bank auditor and operations officer.

Prevent Child Abuse Utah, a nonprofit organization committed to eliminating violence against children, has recognized Assistant Utah Attorney General Paul Amann as one of its 2013 Child Advocate of the Year winners. He has been prosecuting cases for the state for the past decade. Amann has a nearly 100 percent conviction rate against predators who use the Internet to lure children for sexual purposes or produce and trade child pornography.

Super Top Secret, a digital advertising agency based in downtown Salt Lake City, has announced Chris Moore has been named a partner. The company also noted that it has launched STS Studios, which will serve the film and TV industries. Moore has 20 years of experience in film, television and commercial production.

The Utah Technology Council has named Chet Linton, president and CEO of School Improvement Network, as its new chairman. In addition, the group that aims to foster growth in the state's 7,000 technology companies announced 14 new trustees for 2013 — Neil Ashdown, president of iSchool Campus; Tom Carlin, CEO of Inovar; Steve Daly, president and CEO of LANDesk; Adam Edmunds, founder of Allegiance Inc.; Todd Follmer, CEO of inthinc; Shawn Goff, managing partner Ernst & Young in Salt Lake City; Rob Kain, partner at Pelion Venture Partners; Brian Levin-Stankevich, president of Westminster College; Ben McAdams, Salt Lake County mayor; Greg Pesci, CEO of ProPay; Jerry Ropelato, founder and CEO of WhiteClouds; Joe Swenson, CEO of Imagine Learning; Mark VanOrder, chief information officer for the state of Utah; and Charles Wight, president of Weber State University.

Utah businessman Gary Birdsall has been named president and CEO of the South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, succeeding daughter Callie, who took a position with Salt Lake County. He brings a background in marketing, networking, public relations and economic development to his new role.
