Spending rose despite higher Social Security taxes that have cut into paychecks this year. Breakthroughin mobile speeds for Samsung Samsung Electronics said it has made a key breakthrough in developing mobile technologies for so-called fifth-generation networks that would provide data transmission up to several hundred times faster than the current fourth-generation, or 4G, technology. Samsung said it would accelerate the research and development to commercialize those technologies by 2020. The Emporium in Lehi sets its reopening The Emporium at Thanksgiving Point will be celebrating its grand reopening from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. For one day only, guests will receive 30 percent off their entire purchase, as well as the chance to register for a $500 shopping spree at the general merchandise store. The remodeled shop is at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way in Lehi (Interstate 15 and exit 284). New Draper aquarium gets food service deal The Living Planet Aquarium will be partnering with Minnesota-based Lancer Hospitality to provide food service and catering at its new aquarium attraction under construction in Draper, set for opening in December. The new space will include a cafe and banquet facilities, as well as gallery space for formal and informal catered events, including weddings and corporate outings.
