Traske Muir, a fellowship-trained and board-certified lower-extremity orthopedic surgeon, has joined the Center for Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Excellence in West Jordan. The clinic is a member of Physician Group of Utah. Muir earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia, followed by an internship in general surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
The law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy PC has announced that Paul K. Bachman, Richard K. Gardner, Kelley M. Marsden and Richard H. Reeve have been admitted as shareholders. Bachman and Gardner are members of the firm's business section, Marsden and Reeve of Van Cott's litigation section.
The Salt Lake City-based law firm of Snow, Christensen & Martineau said that shareholders Bradley R. Blackham and Keith A. Call have been appointed to the board of directors. Blackham represents health care providers in malpractice lawsuits and pharmaceutical companies in mass tort litigation. Call represents large and small companies in business disputes of all kinds.
Kirton McConkie has announced that Robert McKinley, Of Counsel, has joined the law firm as a member of its employment and labor section. McKinley specializes in employee benefit and fiduciary litigation, and has defended employers in a variety of individual and class-action employment matters. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia's School of Law.
Larson, CPAs has announced that Scott Morrison and Scott Rogers have been named shareholders. Both are partners in the Salt Lake City-based accounting firm's tax division.
The Utah State Bar honored two attorneys at its recent spring convention in St. George. Charlotte L. Miller received the Dorathy Merrill Brothers Award for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession, and Cecilia M. Romero received the Raymond S. Uno Award for the Advancement of Minorities in the Legal Profession.
The board of directors and shareholders of Les Olson Co. have appointed James Olson as co-CEO. A 22-year veteran of the company and third-generation Olson, he will work closely with Jim Olson, CEO and chairman of the board, and Troy Olson, president, in managing the business's day-to-day operations. The Les Olson Co. sells digital copiers, printers and fax machines.
The Ark of Little Cottonwood, a Utah-based mental health treatment center, has named Laura Boberg executive director. Formerly based in Sandy, the treatment center has recently moved to an 18,000-square-foot, 44-bed facility at 299 E. 900 S. in Provo. In her new position, Boberg will assume the responsibilities of her mother, Gloria Boberg, who was the nonprofit organization's founder and executive director, and will serve as a trustee on The Ark of Little Cottonwood's board.
