Pie Five Pizza Co. is set to open its first Utah restaurant later this month, in Holladay at 3158 E. 6200 South.

An exact date will be announced soon, say company officials.

"The more research our team did, the more impressed we were with the concept and its accolades within the restaurant industry," said Utah franchise owner John Gilleland. "We are entrepreneurs at heart. When we learned Pie Five was getting ready to franchise across the country, we knew we wanted to get in on the ground floor and introduce Pie Five in Salt Lake City."

Gilleland and his partners were awarded a multi-unit franchise agreement, with plans to open an additional seven locations in Utah.

Pie Five is a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc., based in the Dallas suburb of The Colony. Pizza Inn is an owner, franchisor and supplier of a system of restaurants operating domestically and internationally.

Pie Five Pizza Co., founded in 2011, is a fast-casual concept offering individual pizzas made to order and cooked in less than five minutes. Founded in 1958, publicly traded Pizza Inn franchises approximately 300 restaurants and directly owns and operates 13 restaurants.
