Former Utah governor Michael Leavitt will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 ACG Utah Intermountain Growth Conference & Capital Connection, an event aimed at matching young companies with private equity.

The event Thursday at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, 555 S. Main St., draws national private equity groups that want to network with growth-oriented, middle-market businesses and the intermediaries in Utah, Idaho and northern Nevada.

Leavitt is the chairman of Leavitt Partners, a health-care business. In addition to being a three-term Utah governor, Leavitt also was secretary of Health and Human Services and head of the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush.
