Joyce Gaufin, acting executive director of Salt Lake City-based Great Basin Public Health Leadership Institute, a division of HealthInsight, was named the president-elect of the American Public Health Association. The latter is the oldest organization of public health professionals in the world, with more than 45,000 members and affiliate members. Gaufin will assume the role in November.

Attorney Bryant J. McConkie has joined the litigation section of the Salt Lake City-based law firm of Ray Quinney & Nebeker. He was a shareholder at another firm before joining Ray Quinney. McConkie's practice focuses on family law and divorce.

Prince Yeates, a Salt Lake City based law firm, has named attorneys Charles L. Perschon and Jared N. Parrish shareholders. Perschon joined Prince Yeates in 2010 and maintains a practice in appellate work and complex commercial litigation. Parrish is a trial lawyer and commercial litigator, devoted to matters involving securities litigation, fraud, equity receiverships, Ponzi schemes and federal appeals.

The law firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer in Salt Lake City has announced that Matthew D. Cook, Nicole Griffin Farrell, Richard E. Mrazik, Brian P. Rosander, Elizabeth A. Schulte and John R. Zimmerman have been named shareholders. Cook is a member of the corporate transactions and securities department; Farrell of the litigation and employment law departments; Mrazik of the litigation department; Rosander of the real estate, banking and finance department; Schulte of the environmental, energy and natural resources department; and Zimmerman of the environmental, energy and natural resources department in the firm's Reno office.

Dave Zitting, president and CEO of Primary Residential Mortgage, Salt Lake City, has been appointed to the six-member 2013 steering committee of the Mortgage Action Alliance, a lobbying network of real estate finance industry professionals. Zitting has worked in the mortgage industry for nearly 25 years.

The Salt Lake City-based law firm of Jones Waldo has announced that Jess Griffiths and Allison Griffiths have joined its Park City office. Both will work in the firm's health care law practice group.

Jim Liu has joined BHB Consulting Engineers as a project engineer. Liu received his degree in architectural engineering from Cal Poly, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Having worked 15 of his 25-year career in the San Francisco Bay Area, Liu brings a strong background in seismic building designs to BHB.
