Ten Thousand Villages-Utah plans to host a fund-raising open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 1 at its store in downtown Salt Lake City at 120 S. Main St.
The non-profit organization operates a store in downtown Salt Lake City that features folk art and other products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 38 countries.
"Our store will quite literally be on the move in the near future and is relocating at the end of March," Matt Thorne, board chair, said in a statement announcing the open house. "At the Feb. 1 event, our guests will vote with a donation toward their preferred new location in Salt lake City.
Thorne said the open house also will provide the public with an opportunity to meet Kimberly Wolf, the organization new executive director.
Ten Thousand Villages’ goal is to create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to sell their wares in the U.S. and earn a fair wage.
