Open house • Utah Valley Toastmasters is hosting a free open house so the public can meet members and hear Mark Hersom, a former radio personality, talk about the importance of communication skills and goal setting for today's professionals, noon to 1 p.m., Bureau of Reclamation office, 202 E. 1860 South, Provo. Utah International Auto Expo • Visitors are invited to check out hundreds of the latest vehicles from manufacturers, from electric cars to the hottest sports cars, at the Utah International Auto Expo, which runs through Jan. 18 at the South Towne Expo Center, 9575 S. State St. Sandy. Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens; children 12 and under are admitted free.

Open house • The Utah Technology Council, which represents the state's high-tech and medical products companies, will host its annual free open house, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 2755 E. Cottonwood Parkway, Salt Lake City. Light refreshments will be served.
